A conventional trend is something standard, current and prevalent today.

Dimensions are specific point-of-views, perspectives and ways of carrying out processes.

Conventional Dimensions are essentially standard perspectives of today. 


A Conventional Dimension in the case of urban planning involves today's point of view with regards to buildings in Singapore today. Structures generally have only one purpose, mainly as office space, retail outlets, education or public services.

The efficiency of the land and space is not maximized because the norm is to have single-purpose buildings.

The only purpose of the outer walls of a conventional building is to protect the inside. The buildings consume electricity and water from the nation's electricity grid and water supply respectively.



On the left is a satellite view of one of Singapore's busiest roads. There is much potential for the buildings in Singapore to maximize the scarce land they are on. Roofs of buildings are usually just slabs of concrete with no beneficial use other than shelter from weather and for the placement of water tanks.

Buildings today are generally dependent on outside parties.
