Urban Planning: Beyond Conventional Dimension

 Maximizing Land Utility Concept

Abstract

While the concept of maximizing land utility itself is not a new concept at Singapore (given its past tendency to do so) under this model, more emphasis will be placed on the architectural aspect of urban planning to attain as much land utility as possible with bold designs that challenge the engineering norm.

Benefits

In addition, to overcoming the issue of land scarcity, this concept will drive on a change in the engineering outlook of urban cities. New buildings are designed with the recurring theme of eco-friendly measures. Despite the similar theme, it can be observed that each infrastructure strives to be unique and groundbreaking in its own way. Indirectly, this has lead to the construction and engineering field progressing towards the use of high end technology.
